A trauma-informed hair care initiative by A Greater Purpose, Inc.

HERstory provides safe, supportive hair care services for women and children—creating spaces centered on Healing, Empowerment, and Rebirth. Through a thoughtful and structured process, participants are met with dignity, care, and compassion at every step of their journey.

Step 1 — Eligibility Appointment
Participants begin by scheduling an eligibility appointment to determine qualification. Required documentation must be submitted, and referrals may be needed for select services, including domestic violence support.

Step 2 — Appointment Scheduling
Once approved, participants can book their Confidence Boost Appointment through the online scheduling system on our homepage.

Step 3 — Confidence Boost Experience
During each appointment, participants receive complimentary hair care services in a safe, welcoming, and empowering environment designed to restore confidence and promote well-being.

Approved participants may schedule up to two appointments per month.

HERstory exists to create more than a service—it creates a space for restoration.

For many women and children, access to consistent care, safe environments, and moments of self-renewal can be life-changing. HERstory offers all three. Through trauma-informed services and community-centered support, participants are not only cared for—they are seen, valued, and uplifted.

Here, healing is nurtured, confidence is rebuilt, and every individual is reminded that their story matters.
