Meet the Founder

Sierra “Cece” Lawson is the Founder & Executive Director of A Greater Purpose Inc. She is also an Air Force veteran, licensed cosmetologist, human services professional, and mother.

She earned a master’s degree in Human Services because she has always believed in serving others. Her education strengthened that foundation, while her lived experiences helped shape the vision for 

A Greater Purpose inc. and the initiative created through it. She continues to pursue opportunities for advanced education and professional development to strengthen her ability to serve individuals, families, and communities.

Like so many people, Sierra experienced seasons where she carried silent battles while still showing up for the world. Her journey includes experiences beginning in childhood, as well as navigating domestic violence and other difficult seasons in adulthood. Those experiences deepened her understanding of how important it is for people to have spaces where they feel supported, respected, and seen.

She created the kind of space she once needed because she never wanted others to feel like they had to walk through difficult seasons alone. Today, she continues to combine her experiences, education, and passion for service to create programs and initiatives that provide meaningful support, connect people with valuable resources, foster connection, and help people move forward with confidence and purpose.
